Hooped Earrings - Plain Or Fancy - Become A Jewelry Designer

Hooped earrings, plain or fancy, small or large, have been around for thousands of years and will never go out of style. There are years when hooped earrings are stylish and a "hot" fashion jewelry piece to wear. When not in vogue, they are still worn. As a Jewelry designer this is a welcomed market.

Earrings are like embroidery as they tell you what part of the country people:

•Their social or financial status
•Their religion, ideas, beliefs, and political views

The hooped earrings can be made from gold, silver, any other metal, plastic, paper, plant fibers, leather, and a few others which escape my thinking at this time.

As a jewelry designer you have probably made jewelry pieces with many natural products as well as from gold, silver, and more.

These earrings are fun to wear. You can feel like a gypsy wearing large hoops, or you can wear small to medium-sized single or multi-circled loops displaying charms, stones, pearls, beads, gold, diamonds and more.

•Hooped earrings studded with diamonds or made from 24 carat gold
•A religious cross encircled within the hoop
•The peace symbol
•Heart charms from your sweetheart
•Red, white, and blue flag for American patriotism

Hooped earrings are easy and quick to make. When working with wire, it is a matter of bending, shaping, and twisting into the wanted design. The hoop can be mounted onto pierced or clip on backings. It is a matter of personal choice.

With the production of recent pirate and adventure films men can wear a hooped earring to feel like a pirate or an explorer. You may giggle; however, men have also been wearing these earrings for thousands of years (usually on one ear lobe).

When selling your jewelry designs it is always a good idea to sell a story which goes with the jewelry piece which you have created. It gives the jewelry piece added value.

As an example, on a trip to a beach site in Florida, I had hand-picked shells from the sandy beach just outside of our cabana rental. Now, I can incorporate a shell in my hooped earrings and attach a card indicating how the shell was hand selected and where it came from. It will have more value than just being a shell in a wire hoop.
